Bedtime & Early Learning
Bedtime & Early Learning is the end-of-day and first-words shelf at Wild Time Comics & Stories in Attleboro, Massachusetts — personalized books built for the last stretch of an evening and for the age just before reading starts.
The bedtime half is designed to wind a room down rather than up: rhymed countdowns to sleep, lists of wishes with no plot to follow, nursery rhymes a visiting grandparent can recite along to without needing to see the page. Nothing in them asks a tired child to remember what happens next.
The early-learning half runs the other way. Alphabets that pair every letter with an action, counting books that use objects already lying around the room, sound books that expect noise back. A child's own name, printed through the pages, does the quiet work in both halves — a word seen often enough in the same shape is usually the first one they recognise.
Bedtime & Early Learning is the part of the store that gets used nightly rather than kept for occasions.
