This page explains what we collect when you use wildtimecomicsstories.com, why we hold it, who else touches it, and how to make us delete it. We have tried to write it so that a person can read it once and know where they stand.

A note specific to our products

Our books are personalised, which means an order often contains a child's first name, and sometimes a family relationship or a short dedication. We treat that as order content: it is used to print your book and for nothing else. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with anyone outside the print and delivery chain described below.

What we collect

Order information. Name, email address, billing address, shipping address, phone number if you give one, and the contents of your order including any personalisation text you enter.
Payment information. Handled by Shopify's payment processing. Card numbers pass through their systems, not ours — we can see the last four digits and the card brand, and nothing more.
Support messages. Anything you send us by email, through the contact form, or tell us on the phone about an order.
Device and browsing data. Standard web log data collected by Shopify: IP address, browser and operating system, referring page, pages viewed on this site, and cookie identifiers.
Marketing consent. Only if you actively opt in. There is no pre-ticked box on this site.

Why we hold it

To print, pack and deliver what you ordered, and to tell you where it is.
To answer you when you contact us, and to resolve refunds, reprints and carrier claims.
To meet our tax and accounting obligations, which is why order records outlive the order.
To detect and prevent fraudulent transactions.
To send you marketing email, only where you asked for it.

Who else sees it

Only the parties who have to, and only the part they need:

Shopify Inc. hosts this store and processes checkout. Their privacy practices govern that processing.
Our US print partner receives the personalisation text, the title ordered, and the shipping label details. They do not receive payment information.
Carriers (USPS, UPS or similar) receive the name and delivery address on the label.
Our payment processors receive what they need to take payment.
Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose something, or where we need to establish or defend a legal claim.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertising networks for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Cookies

This store uses cookies that keep your cart working, keep you signed in, and record basic aggregate traffic figures. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the cart and checkout will stop working correctly if you block the essential ones.

How long we keep it

Order records, including personalisation text, are retained for seven years to satisfy US tax and accounting requirements. Support correspondence is kept for two years. Marketing consent records are kept until you withdraw consent, and for two years after that so we can show when you opted out. Web log data is retained according to Shopify's own schedule.

Your choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for marketing. Residents of Massachusetts and of states with comprehensive privacy laws — including California, Colorado, Connecticut and Virginia — have these rights in statute, and we apply the same process to everyone who asks.

Email support@wildtimecomicsstories.com with the subject line "Privacy request". We will confirm receipt within 5 business days and complete the request within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm the email address on the order before we act, because we would rather be slow than hand your order history to somebody else.

Deleting your data will not remove records we are legally required to retain for tax purposes. We will tell you if that applies to your request.

Marketing email

We only email marketing to people who opted in. Every such email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately. Transactional emails about an order you placed are not marketing and will still be sent.

Children

This store is intended for adults buying gifts. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Where a child's first name appears in an order, it was supplied by the adult purchasing the book. If you believe a child has submitted information to us directly, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site runs over encrypted connections and payments are handled by PCI-compliant processors. No system is perfect, and we will not claim otherwise. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by Massachusetts law.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information — a new tool, a new partner — we update this page. If the change is significant and affects existing customers, we will email those who opted in to hear from us.
