Little Truck has a great many job interviews ahead, and your child comes along for all of them. The interviews are the plot; the trucks are the applicants.
Fire trucks, garbage trucks and ice cream trucks each get a turn showing off what they do, and the child's name is printed through the pages as the passenger. The lesson arrives gently at the end, and it is not the one the setup suggests: the job matters less than the truck you happen to be. Softcover.
That ending is why it survives repeat readings by adults. The trucks carry the child and the last page carries the parent, which is a fair split. It gets requested at bedtime by name — both a compliment to the book and a warning about how often you will be reading it.
